Bazaar Ledger — Terms and Conditions
Version 1.0 · Effective: 17 October 2026
These are the terms on which you use Bazaar Ledger. They are written in plain words on purpose. By ticking "I agree" when the app first opens, or when it shows you an updated version, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The Privacy Policy says what leaves your phone; it is part of these terms, and the two are meant to be read together.
These terms are published at the /terms page of our server, and are inside the app, where you can read them with no internet.
Who we are
Bazaar Ledger is provided by "Bazaar Ledger", an individual developer in Pakistan ("we", "us"). It is not a company with a shopfront; the way to reach us is in Contact, at the end.
What the app is
Bazaar Ledger is an offline-first app for shops: billing, a credit book (khata), stock, expenses and reports. Your books stay on your phone. The app works without the internet and without an account. Some things are optional extras that need our server or Google: plans, the cloud backup and sync, links, the AI assistant. You choose each one.
Accounts
You do not need an account to use the app. Signing in with Google is needed only for the extras that belong to a person: a paid plan, the cloud, and the AI assistant's credits. When you sign in we learn your Google account's id and email address, as the Privacy Policy says. You are responsible for who can use your phone and your shop's PINs; the owner's PIN protects the owner's settings.
Plans
- Free needs no payment and no account.
- Paid plans (Silver, Gold, Platinum) are optional Google Play subscriptions. Google Play takes the payment, renews the plan and tells us whether it is active. The price you see in Google Play is the price you pay.
- Cancel in Google Play (Play Store › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions). Deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds for a subscription are decided under Google Play's own refund policy. We cannot refund a Google Play payment ourselves.
- When a plan cannot be checked. A paid plan keeps working for 7 days without reaching our server. After that, the app falls back to Free until it can check again.
- When a plan ends. The extras of that plan stop. Nothing you recorded is locked or deleted. Your books always open, export and restore, and the backups already on our server can still be listed and downloaded.
- We may change what each plan includes or its price. A change reaches you in Google Play, which asks you before a higher price is charged.
AI credits
- The AI assistant is off until you turn it on. What your phone understands by itself is free and uses no credit.
- A request the AI reads uses credits, at the price shown on the screen before it is sent.
- Credits come with a paid plan each month, or as packs bought in Google Play. A pack is a one-time purchase.
- A request that fails is refunded automatically, in credits.
- Credits are not refundable for cash, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred to another person or account. A pack bought in Google Play can be refunded only under Google Play's policy; if it is, the credits it gave can be taken back.
The AI can be wrong
The AI is a helper that reads words and photos and suggests entries. It makes mistakes: a wrong name, a wrong amount, a wrong date, a missed line.
- In Standard mode the AI only fills a screen (a bill, a payment, an item, an expense and so on). You check it and tap Save yourself.
- Full access is a separate setting that the owner can turn on only after accepting a notice of responsibility. Then the AI saves by itself, and you are responsible for every entry it saves. Each can be undone from the app (cancelled, as any entry is), and you should look at what it did.
- Everything the AI writes has a Report button. Please use it.
Not professional advice
The app and its AI are not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice. The shop is responsible for its own records, its tax filings, and any invoice sent to FBR or to another authority. Check the figures, and ask your accountant when it matters. A report, a total or an AI answer is only as right as what was entered.
Your data and your backups
- Your data is kept on your phone. We do not hold a copy unless you turn the cloud on, and then only a sealed one.
- You are responsible for your backups. Make them: to a file, to your own Google Drive, or to the optional cloud. A phone that is lost, broken or wiped takes its books with it if no backup exists.
- The optional cloud keeps sealed copies our server cannot read. If you lose every phone and your recovery code, nobody can open them, not you and not us. We cannot reset a code we never had.
- How we handle information is set out in the Privacy Policy, at the
/privacypage of our server and inside the app.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for anything unlawful, or to keep false records to deceive somebody;
- abuse our server or the AI relay: flood it, try to get around its limits or credits, or use it to harm other people or systems;
- reverse engineer, change or bypass the app's licence and plan checks;
- resell the app, a plan, credits, or access to our server.
Availability
Our server, the cloud, links, sign-in, the AI and the app stores are services that can be slow, change, or be unavailable, for a day or for longer. We try to keep them running but we do not promise it. The app's offline features keep working whatever happens to them.
Ownership
The app, its name, design and text belong to us or to those who license them to us; parts are open source under their own licenses. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app. Your books and everything you enter belong to you.
No warranty, and limits on our liability
The app is provided "as it is". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it is error-free or always available, and we are not liable for lost profits, business losses, tax penalties or fines, wrong entries (yours or the AI's), lost data where no backup was made, or any indirect loss. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything in connection with the app is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here takes away a right you have by law that cannot be taken away.
Ending these terms
You may stop using the app at any time: uninstall it, or delete your account as the Privacy Policy describes. We may suspend or stop our server services (never access to the books on your phone) for abuse of these terms. Parts of these terms that by their nature should continue (such as the limits on liability) do.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the new version is published at the same address with a new version number and date, and the app shows it and asks you to accept it before you carry on. If you do not accept, you can keep a copy of your books by exporting them, and stop using the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Disputes are for the courts of Pakistan, except where a law of your own country gives you the right to go to a court there.
